In my opinion it’s about some of these qualitative factors such as having a population obsessed with the game. For what it’s worth though, the authors of Soccernomics think it’s only a matter of time before the US becomes a soccer powerhouse
I hope so. But "experts" have been saying that for years, even decades. You'd think with our population and resources, we could show better on the international stage. But hopefully it IS just a player or two or coach away from happening....
It'll be interesting to see how Brazil do in the 2026 WC with an elite manager who has won it all at club level.
Agree! It’s been a while since they’ve succeeded at the highest levels, so it will be fun to watch
